Sylvia Schmidt is a German vocalist from the three-country corner of Saxony. Since arriving in London in 2008, she has established herself as a versatile soloist (Kitchman / Schmidt, Glasshopper, Don’t Problem) and an in-demand ensemble musician (White Flower, Ibibio Sound Machine). Sylvia has carefully crafted her voice into a precise instrument, a tool which she effortlessly wields to tell beautiful and emotive stories in song.

The Seat, A View is an appreciation of a moment of contentedness, acceptance and connection which I felt working among a group of like-minded womxn writers last year. The tides are turning for womxn writers, composers and musicians because we are the change we seek.

Proceeds of this recording will go towards the self-release of my first EP as solo artist.
